Preparing For a CoolSculpting Treatment
- Arrive in comfortable clothes to your treatment, Disposable clothing is provided because the thick gel that is used for skin protection may stain your clothing.
- Eat a light snack or meal before your appointment. Limit beverages and caffeine immediately prior to the treatment.
- Avoid taking anti-inflammatories before your treatment.
- Movement is limited during the treatment, so don’t bring any activities to occupy your time. We want you to sit back and relax!
What to Expect From a CoolSculpting Treatment
- Treatment time will vary depending on what part of the body you are having treated. The procedure can take as little as 35 minutes per treatment area, allowing enough time to relax, watch a quick show, or take a small nap before you head back to work.
- Your healthcare provider will apply a gel pad and applicator to the targeted area. The applicator will deliver controlled cooling to the fat to freeze and kill them. These will be naturally eliminated from the body over the next few weeks.
- Expect some mild discomfort, such as sensations of pulling, pinching, or intense cold. These sensations will subside as the area becomes numb.
What to Expect After Your CoolSculpting Treatment
- Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will take place. Your body will naturally eliminate the injured fat cells for up to 4 months after the treatment.
- Most patients have minimal discomfort after the treatment. However, you may experience one or more of the following sensations: tingling, numbness, bloating, aching and/or soreness. Contact your CoolSculpting provider if these conditions persist beyond 14 days or worsen over time.
