5 Steps to Manage Your Varicose Veins During Pregnancy 

While minimally invasive spider and varicose vein treatments such as echosclerotherapy and sclerotherapy are very safe and effective, they are not recommended during pregnancy. However, if you are pregnant, there are a number of ways you can successfully manage your varicose veins at home. 


This includes: 

1. Follow a regular exercise routine.
Doing a gentle form of exercise regularly while you are pregnant, such as walking, will help transport the blood out of your legs and manage your varicose veins. However, it's important that you book an appointment with your obstetrician or vein specialist to determine which type of exercises are safe for you. 


2. Swap out your heels for flats.
When you're pregnant, you should be careful about your footwear. While you may love to wear high heels, these can make it harder for the blood to move through the veins in your legs. You should strongly consider switching to flats for the duration of your pregnancy. This will keep you comfortable and lower your risk of developing varicose veins.


3. Wear compression stockings.
